Up and Runners

WELCOME to our web site!

The newly formed Up and Runners Club welcomes you to their website. The club was founded in January 07 as an informal training group by Michael Jenkins, owner of the first specialist running shop in Northern Ireland Up and Running via the talkback forum on Up and Running. The talkback forum remains a focal point for all members of the club. Training runs, up and coming races, marathon training plans and how to get that first foot out the door are all discussed at length on the boards.

The club officially became an affiliated club in November 07 with 46 members of all ages and ability. The ethos of the club is to bring runners of all shapes, sizes and ability together and there is no such thing as too slow!! Our weekly Wednesday training runs are welcome to all. Please check the training pages for more details.

Races We Run

Recent races undertaken by club members have been the Race over the Glens, Greencastle Boxing Day Run, Seeley Cup 10km and the Dublin Marathon. Pictures of some of the races will be available shortly in the Gallery.

For more information on upcoming races please see the Race Calendar
The Forum

All club activity typical revolves around the Up and Running Talkback Forum. Whether it be injury diagnosis by our resident sports therapist HelenD, weekend runs up the Cavehill or what marathon to do next. We recommend you log on to the forum and discuss all aspects of running in NI.
